The Art Therapy Nest is a compassionate community space for healing and creativity. The Art Therapy Nest offers virtual, live and interactive groups and workshops, at a low sliding-scale rate, allowing nurturing support to be accessible to all. We are a diverse collective of Creative Arts Therapists offering expressive arts; movement, music and art with traditional wellness methods, meditation and other mindfulness practices. It’s a space to host enriching workshops and a home base for community outreach initiatives. We support our community in living healthy and empowered lives. With your membership you will have access to over weekly inspiring, creative and healing groups. We will also feature workshops by guest artists, activists and educators.

We unequivocally believe that: black lives matter, no human is illegal, indigenous land, water and rights must be protected, love is love, women's rights are human rights, solidarity with trans people is essential.

Upcoming Offerings

The fee per offering is $1-$45.

A portion of the proceeds from every offering will go to The BIPOC Student Fund by Black Arts Therapies Educators. The fund is to provide greater access and support for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who are enrolled in creative arts therapies programs. As many colleges move to remote-learning and online platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic, this fund will provide much needed relief for BIPOC students who need to purchase laptops, tablets, art supplies, instruments, and books or cover the costs of basic necessities while completing their undergraduate or graduate coursework.

Alfonsina is multi-faceted artist, story-teller and mindfulness practitioner. “Creativity has always been my language of choice to communicate with the world and reflect what I see. I am a writer and painter, but I have played with a variety of disciplines including photography, music and cooking. Whatever the medium, my goal is always the same: to use creativity as a way to process what I observe in the world and transform it into pieces that can inspire others to enrich our human experiences and deepen our connections to each other.”

During this evening offering with guest artist Alfonsina Betancourt we will discuss the healing qualities of her creative process. She will lead us in in art making and explore…What lies beneath our skin? How can we look at ourselves beyond our physical attributes? In this session, we will create self-portraits that encourage us to look at ourselves with curiosity and without judgment. With the use of any art material of your choice, we will explore the path to integrate our perceptions of who we are with our true identity.
